Hello :). Im in leeds. things have been going well, but I dont know how the hell to start this post. It’s been a very chaotic few days, only helped by the fact that now that im settled down in my apartment and have enough stuff to sustain myself, theres a bit less chaos. For now though, lets go through this day by day.
Day 1, the travel day. Got my stuff, and my dad got his stuff(O yea did I mention my dad will be here a while to help me settle in? Probably not. He’s here till the 29th) both of us with a total of 6 bags, one of which the handle doesnt work(this becomes kinda important later). We say goodbye, and get in a uber. When were at the airport, things go as smoothly as they usually do. We get into a lounge area which we have access to because my dad’s company is apparently really cool, and I go at it on some ice tea, at least 3 cans to start. My dad lectures me on how if I want perks like this I need a good job, I eat, take two more ice tea’s to go and we go to take the flight to london. The flight itself was alright, nothing to rave about. We werent supposed to sit next to each other, but since some guy missed the flight I got to take his place and we flew next to each other. The food was good, but I loaded up on eggs and hashbrowns so much in the lounge I barely ate any. Before travelling, I bought a bunch of music on bandcamp to listen to. Undertale and both deltarune chapters, the rest of femtanyls songs, and nanoray’s discography. I listened to all those songs from when I left the house till I arrived, and it’s basically all I did in the plane. Except the last hour, which I still listened to music in, where I read some sherlock holmes book out of the many offered by the flight. Not ACTUAL book of course, but through their screens. It was a nice read.
We arrive and immediately we have no idea what the fuck to do. We figure we’ll rent somewhere for the night near kings cross, and go to leeds the next day, so we do. Getting all our bags to that apartment was a PAIN though, since we both had to carry a total of 6 bags, 4 heavy and 2 light. At first, we split them evenly, but it was a horrible HORRIBLE idea. Getting the bags to that apartment out of the cab ALONE was fucking HORRENDOUS. So we did things differently the next time. For now, the bags are all at the apartment, so we go to eat. It’s not that obvious where we should go, but I find a diner we can go to. My dad wants me to find for myself and makes me look and book though, so I had to enter the first floor, a bar, to book for and go to the second floor, the diner. It was the first time id ever entered a bar and ever smelled alcohol and the like, and let me be the first to say this. IT REEKED, IT WAS SO PUTRID. HOW, HOOOOOOOOOOW DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS? I hated every second in there, but the lady that helped me book was nice. It wasnt really a booking though, I just asked her for a seat of two and me and my dad waltzed in right after. The diner, was amazing. Genuinely amzing food, it was the first time i’d ever had fish and chips proper, and I loved it. My dad had salmon, and we enjoyed dinner. Got some hot chocolate and went back home shortly after to end the day.

(Heres a picture for reference btw. Ill try to add pictures so you get a better picture of things)
Day 2, we move to leeds. We didnt book the apartment for two days, since it was already booked for the next day, so even though we wouldve like to stay a bit longer we just went. This time, one of use would hold four bags, one light and one heavy bag for each hand, and the other would hold to large bags, including the one with the broken handle. Dont get me wrong, it was still miserable getting here, but it doesnt matter anymore. NO MORE BAGGAGE :D. right now at least. On day two, im still fucked. Anyways, it’s around 12 30 when we get on the train to leeds, and the view was GORGEOUS. Grennery everywhere, more than ive ever seen in my lifetime, farm animals, tons of snow in certain parts and BEAUTIFUL architecture. Really, they do it way better hear than the houses in saudi arabia, at least the older ones since they caught up and in quite a big way. The food on the train was really good too, mostly the chick pea sandwich which genuinely curbed my appetite down to the ground in a way I never would’ve expected for ANY food. We arrive, and get a short taxi to a cafe near the apartment, not the apartment itself. Why? Well, i dont have the keys :D. Yea, my dad sat at the cafe with the bags and I went and got them. I should also mention EVERYTHING here is in walking distance, including the univeristy, and I love it. Its the stuff of fantasy and it’s awesome.

(this place is so fucking cool)
I get the keys, come back and we’re FINALLY home. I get to unpacking, and my dad sets up the tv. I head down to get us some water, come back and we end off the day shortly thereafter.
Day 3, we’re missing a LOT. No shatafa (bidet hose) which HAS and STILL IS KILLING ME (soon to be installed but damn is it miserable without one), and some other miscellaneous stuff. For now though, we cant leave the house though. the door doesnt lock, and neither of us feel safe leaving. So we order from a halal restaraunt called mahmood’s. If your reading this and can order it, dont. Its not good. At best get the pizza, thats the only good thing they have. The burgers are bad, both chicken(especially chicken) and beef, fries are similar to mcdonalds though. We get someone assigned by the apartment to come fix the door, and we can finally leave the apartment, so we do. theres a fun winter festival, so we visit it. Good food, solid shsih tawook, nice boba drink from a family run business sporting a son and probably daughter of the owner running the place(very nice people btw), AND IS THAT FUCKING HAMILTON ???

I know my dad couldnt tell, but I was internally frothing at the mouth and losing my goddamn mind. I still wanna go, so ill book it soon once I have my bank account set up and the money to do it. For now, we head back home and end the day. (There are still tickets FUCK YEA >>:)))
Also, checked out a mall. Cool mall, got an umbrella and a type c to hdmi cable to connect the legion go to the tv, basically a mini pc and its very cool. Will definitely dual boot linux on it, I just really feel like trying out arch linux, see how that goes. Knocked some other miscellaneous items off the list, like nail clippers and tweezers, and went for groceries again. The lady at the counter let us in on where we can find halal protein, which FINALLY. Since day one we’ve been asking around and didnt find any good answers, so we finally have places to check out. Also, wendys is halal here so we had that for dinner. Went back home and set up the legion go, messed around with it. Need some double A batteries since the wireless mouse and keyboard we got dont have any, so ill get some today and that should give me the capacity to actually start tweaking the legion go to its fullest.
Now, we’re at the present day, day 4. I left out a lot of smaller minute details to be honest, but that’s about how everything has been going. Still got a lot to do, and ill start classes TOMORROW, but its been fun and will hopefully continue to be fun. Im gonna go charge the laptop and make something to eat, YOU have a good week though :].
