WE’RE BACK.

Hi again :). Has everyone been doing alright? Eating good, sleeping good? Im kind of struggling with the latter a bit, just because of how hot it is without an AC and a single disk fan, but not by a crazy amount. Im kind of starting to get used to the pillows too, and in all honesty id rather that than spend my limited budget on a somewhat expensive pillow, so I think ill just buy a fan sometime this monthe and leave it there in that department. Idk.

Before the deltarune though, how about a new indomie recipe?

Another recommendation from a friend, its a dry indomie recipe where you sieve some noodles and drop them in a mix of the seasoning and oil packets, PEANUT BUTTER, HONEY, soy sauce, lemon juice, and some chili powder (theyre something you mix together b4 adding to the pan). You saute some chopped green onion and garlic in the pot first, add the mix and let it bubble, then add the noodles.

Now to be clear I AM a jackass and I DID forget the chili powder, and im sure given it was a bit overly sour that it wouldve been better with it included, BUT EVEN THEN. ITS SO GOOD.

I still have 2 of the 5 pack too, so ill just make it again a day or two from now to really see what its meant to taste like, but for now im really happy with it. Ill probably add a bit of water to the sauce before adding it to the pan too, not something missing from the recipe but the noodles were a bit too dry and it might be better juicy, though that could be something wrong with the method itself, im not sure yet.

Did I cook the noodles for too long and them clumping registered as being too dry? I doubt it but I guess it IS possible.

Should I add water to the mix, while its bubbling or to the noodles afterward? Who knows, we’ll see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I sort of just tried to match the quantities to what was in the video but if anybody has any suggestions as to how to deal with the amount of stuff to use, do let me know :x. Eyeballing it seemed to work for me.

I fucking loved this chapter (chapter 3).

You know what I DIDNT EVEN PLAY THROUGH IT IN FULL, I accidentally glossed over a lot of the second round since i just want on the main path, and didnt pay (with in game not real money) to play the susiezilla minigame (both of which im DEFINITELY going back for later) but I DID KICK THE KNIGHTS ASS.

MY GOD HE WAS ANNOYING. For anyone who needs a rundown (spoilers of course), its a boss at the end of the chapter that you HAVE to lose to. I dont mean it like its the objective, I mean YOU CANT WIN. Basically, either you lose fighting him and the game plays out as normal, the cutscene afterwards is built in mind with the fact that the knight is canonically way stronger than your team at this point and will rock your shit, or if you get a secret item from doing some extra minigames b4hand, you CAN fight him till his last attack.

And then he kicks your ass anyways (u do get an important item and an extra cutscene from it tho :0).

And getting to that last attack is HARD AS HELL, even with the shadow mantle letting you take some attacks that would normally instantly kill you, HE STILL HAS INSTANT ATTACKS ANYWAYS ITS ABSURD.

Literally Any, ANY attack with its sword is basically an instant kill (or just really hard), and if I didnt have a bajillion revivemints on hand I wouldve never gotten to the end.

It took 10 attempts or so, but its doable. Some people compare it to sans’s fight, I hear a lot of discourse saying the knight is the 2nd hardest boss of the series under his, which is fair.

Its kind of hard to compare the fights though, since undertale’s hardest fights never just straight up KILL YOU IN TWO SWORD SWIPES, DAMN.

Though it DID stutter and slow down initially, FOR A WHILE (thanfully went away when I let the laptop cool down). When I first fought the knight on my first two attempts or so, the game was practically running in slow motion. I figured given that fact, and the fact that I needed it for other reasons anyways (like running the microsoft office suite when I wanted without macos + for the fun of it) I should try emulating windows on asahi linux.

I mean, I cant play FLAC files on macOS, cant add my own custom cursor like with linux or windows on macOS, you cant download any file from the internet (A BASIC REAUIREMENT OF A LAPTOP) without macos sometimes making you GO TO SYSTEM SETTINGS EACH GODDAMN TIME treating me like a toddler who only knows how to download viruses, other than for garageband and the office suite macOS FUCKING SUCKS, and I dont wanna have to keep switchiing to it just to use the office suite for foundation year work. You cant even give macos the benefit of better game compatibility as an upside anymore, I can play more games on asahi than on macos nowadays, MACOS IS AN ASS OS.

So uh, I tried it, emulating windows on asahi, god knows I dont want to emulate it on mac, any more switching between the two was gonna make me tear my hair out (one is a labour of love by developers who deserve a crazy amount of love and respect for their awesome work, the other is a bunch of elitist snobs who dont let you do shit outside of whats in the apple ecosystem, with ZERO joy or whimsy in their hearts). It started mid week in the middle of a class, and the installation took hours (I literally took the laptop with me to my appointment to get it done), but I managed to haphazardly get it done.

It was awful.

800×600 resolution, awful preformance, its not like I COULDNT use it but it was really inefficient, and apparently NOT how it was supposed to run. From what I see online it being stuck like that wasnt correct tho. Keep in mind I DID have to course correct a lot of the lines of code with whatever the hell chatgpt could output just because following the guide would always lead me to not being able to boot up with a display, so its not like this was unexpected, but at the same time I was clueless as to how to solve it. Tried tweaking some lines for the startup, installed the virtio drivers 3 times over or so, nothing budged.

So now this weekend I figured id try a different guide.

It hasnt gotten me anywhere either >:(.

The install runs abysmally slow for some reason, like half of the speed of the other install (kind of like how the knight boss fight was running in slow motion) and it took ALL OF YESTERDAY to get it past two download screens.

It froze and never recovered by the time I woke up. I did it again today, it froze even earlier.

Im lost :p.

Im not sure what ill do now, im thinking Ill stick with this guide a bit longer and if it doesnt work ill go back to the old one. There ARE some tweaks I can make to get it to work (IN THEORY) since according to the guide im supposed to tweak the lines to run the emulator from the jump depending on if im using linux or not, but I couldnt get them to work before trying to install and just moved on without making the changes (which couldve easily contributed all these problems for sure). If I can figure out why and maybe fix that before going back to the old guide, great, otherwise ill just go back to the old guide.

Admittedly, I could just emulate it on macos, but fuck macos, if theres anything, ANYTHING youve learned from reading this, the BIGGEST takeaway from reading this emulation jargon should be this.

Dont buy from apple. They ARE the WORST.

High prices, limited customization, they actively squeeze you for dough whenever they can, like with how they introduced airpods by removing the headphone jack, or how theyre fighting against laws that give you the right to repair YOUR OWN SHIT, no matter how convenient their products seem they have TONS and TONS of caveats, are overpriced AS HELL and only serve to justify you giving them more money later down the line with their “ecosystem” (jail) of products.

Fuck apple, fuck the macbook, and fuck macbook again. Ive used an intel mac in middle school and still have it to this day, it was my very first laptop, and in truth apple laptops are the only laptops ive ever known, and rather than slowly learning to love the software as anybody would expect after using it for so long, every fucking minute with this garbage just makes me hate it more, its agonizing the amount of time I waste on things that I could do with the snap of a finger on a laptop that wasnt made by APPLE.

It technically isnt wasted time, I get more accustomed to software and challenge myself with tech which I do love to do, but its a shame its apple im working around, makes it less of me learning to utilise software to its fullest, or working with understandable flaws, but more dodging the several (completely unnecessary if they actually gave a shit) nut punches that came with the cost of haven ever given this stupid company money.

I dont care what else you buy, other companies arent any less shit morally (tech corpos are just the worst) but even if it ends up being samsung or google and not a more ethical choice than most big tech, dont worry about it too much, at the very least you dont have to deal with all this nonsense after the fact and maybe even cared to research with the limited time we have to do so + exhaustion of our day to day.

Dont buy from apple. Please, for your sake :).

I love susie as much as the rest of the community and so the video was a really fun treat, and the DESS DESIGN IS AWESOME. If thats how she actually turned into the knight (probably not but it still goes so hard) id be ECSTATIC, ITS SO COOL I LOVE THE VIDEO SO MUCH <3.
