Green Chili Indomie

HELLO again to all the wonderful people reading.

How do you do?

Lets talk about indomie some more.

I KNOW I just came off of that whole spiel about getting my eye burned by a ton of capscaicin (and ive been talking about indomie nonstop forever now) but hear me out , I just scored a big find (that realistically shouldve been over and done with like 2 or 3 months ago since this isnt the first time I go to abu bakr supermarket).

Besides, I love indomie <3.

Also, im gonna start naming that other indomie flavour from b4 that I burned my eye with brown (cuz the pack color) indomie for short again, id call it chicken but the yellow flavour is also chicken and theres 2 other “special chicken flavours” and you know what SCREW THAT NONSENSE ITS FUN CALLING THEM BY COLOUR ANYWAYS.

Ive been trying to stay careful with my money since the boa concert, and so I went to abu bakr supermarket for the first time in a while. I stopped since life was really inconvenient at the time and I did not AT ALL settle in properly yet, so that on top of going to a seperate supermarket that was decently far away from my flat for my chicken and meat was proving to be a drag, and I started getting it from morrisons instead.

HOWEVER, I went recently and actually double checked the prices for the chicken and meat, turns out id be saving a good bit by just going to abu bakr, especially on the chicken. Chicken breasts (from what I recall) at abu bakr only cost 6 pounds 1 kg, while morrisons costs 9 and above depending on if its frozen or not.

Btw I always round up, so for example if theres ever a price thats 5.50 ill say its 6, since id rather have more money in my wallet after the fact than less you know? especially since companies think its smart to say something is 99.99 instead of 100, everyone knows its 100 and you trying to trick us ever so subtly into thinking its less than it actually is only makes us respect you less you pieces of shit >:(.

(also working with decimals (like something costing 5.69) sucks and I hate it)

Anywho, I say “from memory” because ive went to morrisons and I know that the frozen kilo of chicken breasts is 9 pounds but cant find abu bakr’s prices online FOR THE LIFE OF ME, their website is always down and I cant find the picture of the prices that I took last time I went, so youll just have to take my word on this.

Anywho, that isnt even what we’re here to talk about. Morrisons only has 2 flavours of indomie 5 packs, white and brown, for 4 pounds and 3.50 respectively. Abu bakr has yellow, green, orange, and red, AND other flavours that I dont recognize from indomie :0. You wanna know how much each 5 pack costs too?

One and a half pounds. ONE AND A HALF. TWO FOR ONE FROM MORRISONS AND YELLOW IS LITERALLY MY CHILDHOOD INDOMIE AND USED TO BE MY 2ND FAVORITE (green chili was the favorite>:)). Thats 3 five packs for 1 five pack of buldak, while buldak is ON SALE DOWN TO 5 (its usually 6 pounds (so normally it actually equals 4 FIVE PACKS).

Needless to say, I bought a bunch of flavours.

All of them, I bought basically all of them.

And yellow tasted as good as I remember it too x).

I’d start with yellow but, is there even anything to say about it? Its THE ONE, THE ONLY uncontested SUPREME ROYALTY of indomie flavours, not necessarily my favorite but u gotta admit regardless of favorites that its amazing, and at least for me is the first thing I think of when I think indomie.

Red was next, I liked it a lot, maybe even more than yellow if im being honest, though im only really eating these flavours and considering them side by side after months of not giving a hoot which flavour I got, so its gonna be a while since I develop a concrete opinion on which one is definetively my favorite. Anyways, red’s got this kick to it that makes it really tasty, and I love the hell out of it.

Finally, I had green the other day. My god, I had GREEN D:.

Look, it isnt BAD, I didnt hate it, but its so easily the worst of any indomie flavour, without a doubt even including brown.

Thing is, I was hoping that it was the green chili indomie that I used to have (even if it was literally labelled VEGETABLE flavour I held onto hope cuz it was green x)), and by that I dont mean the packet colour but the noodles themselves would be green from the oil packet, those green CHILI indomie packs were me and sibling’s GUILTY PLEASURE as kids, it was the absolute best flavour in the whole wide world, even including any other foods.

But THIS????? Its such crazy tonal whiplash >:(. ITS STRAIGHT UP ARABIC COFFEE FLAVOUR. TELL ME IM WRONG.

Again, not like I HATED it, but saying this is a refined taste that you only ever crave once in a blue moon is underselling the situation WAY too much. Safe to say, im not getting it again for a WHILE.

Finally, orange. I left it for last cuz its my favorite color <3, and I havent tried it yet, so ill let you know how it is next week. Also finished two spare buldak packs I had lying around, so just A Lot of noodles overall this week.

I know, A LOT of noodles, but trust me im eating veggies and fruits inbetween, as well as the occasional fish and chips.

But like seriously, can you blame me? These noodles taste fucking amazing, INDOMIE is fucking amazing.

I love experimenting with it, trying different vegetables with it, different seasoning add ons, milk or no milk, different additional sauces, fucking SOURCREAM indomie casually just being way too fucking delicious but its own thing entirely, having it with broth, no broth, THE WORLD IS MY OYSTER AND THE OYSTERS GOING IN WITH THE SOY SAUCE >:).

On a related note, DO NOT use cold water to cook noodles, I tried it after hearing from futurecanoe that it “hydrates” the noodles better and just kept doing it for a while, IT DOES NOTTTTTTT, IT JUST MAKES THE TEXTURE ODDLY MUSHY, PLEEEEASE DONT.

Ive been doing it for god knows how long now (at least 2 weeks), so maybe I gave brown a bad wrap because of it, though im still convinced whatever demonic entity cursed my eyes with unholy levels capscaicin last week is still tangentially tied to the fact that I kept buying the brown flavour for way too long, like a kind of spiritual awakening of sorts to get the fuck off that flavour :p.

I also tried adding a hell of a lot ton of water when cooking the indomie, and then adding the some water to the bowl seperately after I was done cooking the indomie. Id then remove the rest of the water from the pot with a sieve, while keeping the noodles in the pot, and season the noodles in the pot before putting it into the bowl with the water.

This was, okay. Not really a good way to cook it, the seasoning doesnt spead that well with the drained indomie so it makes for a bit of a convoluted setup with minimal reward in terms of taste.

So after all the experimenting that ive done in terms of broth, honestly? Theres only really two ways to go depending on if you like or dislike broth.

Either you add the seasoning and oil packets into the BOWL, drain the indomie and then add it. With this the seasoning is still annoying to coat evenly across the entirety of the noode BUT some add-ons make this easier, like butter or sour cream from the sour cream recipe like 7 posts ago that was suggested by that dear friend, OR heating up oil till super hot and tossing it in the bowl before adding the noodles (both are great but this one has become a top tier pick for me now :)).

OR you add the seasoning and oil packets into the POT like 80% of the way into cooking the noodles, then let the pot simmer to really let the flavour settle in and help the consistency of the broth. Personally, though finding the right amount of water to use depending on the amount of packets and your preferences is initially kinda tough, getting this down is basically what ive been doing since I started making indomie in early high school and is still my Personal favorite way to make indomie, right on top of the drained noodle with oil method.

To be clear, back when I was in high school I just used to dip the seasoning and oil right in the bowl before the water was even added, and though thats OK I think the method above is just better in terms of flavour and consistency.

Also I just have NEVER measured the water or milk in milliliters, I sort of just go off of whatever feels right at that moment, so once im done trying each flavour id love to tune a specific amount of water and the rest of the ingredients to my liking to use everytime. Im seeing three routes for this:

One recipe where I get all the measurements for a water brothe indomie just right,

One for a water + milk broth indomie,

And one for the oil and drained indomie method.

Theyd ideally all account for the amount of packets, and have the measurements for the water/ milk / oil, but also any veggies or other extras id use.

Ok honestly what the hell WHY HAVENT I THOUGHT TO DO THIS BEFORE? I cant wait to get on it >>:).

So thats like 1,500 words about indomie, I hope you guys enjoyed that :).

What else has been going on this week?

Well I got this idea for weekly planner thatd cycle between 2 different week set-ups, hear me out on it.

I just started my skincare routine back up again since I finally have the chance to, and you know whats really annoying about it?

Getting the days of the week right.

Its not enough to just say youll do it on certain days of the week, since once the next week comes around whatever routine is in place gets shifted a day or two, since a week is odd.

Just as an exmaple to visualise, if you want to use a moisturiser everyday, thats fine, but a certain product only being used 3 times a week creates problems, if you choose three specific days whuth a day inbetween each, like monday wednesday and friday, once friday is done itll take 2 days instead of 1 till the next usage.

I wanted to fix this in the routine, a way for me to know which week to work with based off of some indicator thatd let me know, so I came up with an Idea. An idea thatd probably branch off of just skincare too, that I could use for other weekly plans in the future.

We make a weekly plan that accounts for two weeks, week A and B, 1 and 2, it really doesnt matter right now, ill figure out cool names and a theme for them later once the plan itself is done. Each week would have its right amount of days, so that when it switches to the next week it shifts forwards or backwards to make it so theres no break in whatever it is your doing.

To go back to the example, instead of JUST monday wednesday friday, you delegate that to one week and the other week to sunday tuesday thursday and saturday, which would naturaly rotate to the first week’s monday wednesday and friday. This way, there isnt any break, the only downside being youd be using it four times a week on one week (so it depends on if you can or not depending on the situation).

And like I said earlier, i’d even give each week its own theme, have some fun with it :). Ill put it all in a document, and give myself a small visiual indicator to know which week im on. I could print it, but at some point im sure id have it memorized. I was thinking I could change my wallpaper as the visual indicator, that way one wallpaper immediately tells me what days to do what things for the week.

And itd branch out to EVERYTHING, not just the skincare, but cleaning duties, gym days, all the good stuff. If I could nail some of this down on a document or something on the vacation before the my first year at uni starts id be set, and itd be AWESOME -+-

Ill have to flesh it out some more, ill keep you guys updated. For now, ima go back to studying, I have a math coursework this week and a simulation Q&A to get ready for tmr (+ gotta work on english cw3 to show to a teacher for feedback), and thats just everything going on this week :’).

Before I leave though, how about a few goodies?

If your anything like me, id love if you checked out “i like colours” by mafti. I feel like im back to playing littlebigplanet 2 and 3 whenever I hear it and I love it so much, the whole album is clinically overrated honestly so check it out if youve got the time. Pretty sure ive talked about it and the album before, and the premeire but ID ONT CARE GO CHECK IT OUT =).

also, have a deltarune video while your at it

https://youtu.be/0mOHXUC698Y?si=m6KyDX7F3rEMQyuQ

Its one of MANY sick pieces of chapter 3 + 4 art and animations and stuff for deltarune, and id love to share more like I usually do and talk about it (and actually talk about dangnanronpa like I promised last week), but LIFE IS BUSY. If it helps, I plan on buying deltarune this week, I absolutely cant help it even if ive been spoiled on much of it IM DYING to play it, so ill find some time to bite into it and talk about it some more, just dont expect much since the math and physics exams alongside everything else are really eating away at my time and brain right now. I promise you guys, im gonna make a 4 or 5 thousand word post one of these days, as soon as the vacation starts and the study centre is done BENDING ME OVER.

So again, thanks for being here, and see you next week :).
