PK Rave

hello Hello HELLO. Hi. I’m finally back in Riyadh, god I missed my pc. it’s so much easier to post in complete silence and nothing to bother me.

Great trip all around, although it was so messy in my own head I could barely stand straight. Allergies and asthma were killing me since there were 7 cats in the house, bunch of drama between friends and the like, still a great time though. We kept going to the same juice shop the last couple of days and I loved it. The guy serving us was such a sweet guy and the drinks were amazing, the chocolatey drinks not as much but anything with fruits in it he’d absolutely unequivocally nail to perfection, did I mention that each drink was 10 riyals by the way?

The last day was also a big highlight, just not at all how I would’ve expected it to have been. Rather than it be like last time, going out with a bang by leaving the house early morning with friends and spending the whole day together, it was much more serene. I got only 3 or so hours of sleep and since we’d stayed up so late the previous day, and I needed to get a statement from my previous school relating to fees and such. Didn’t know how long it’d take, turns out less than 5 minutes. It was fast as hell and didn’t warrant me waking up so early, but regardless it got done.

Then there was actually visiting the school again which, I don’t even know how to put into words how it went. I kinda just walked around taking pictures of all the memorable places. That and it was a complete mix of emotions, running around the place listening to old music as a last visit. Some places had mostly good memories, some bad. Practically couldn’t tell the difference since it was 10 am and the sun had my brain sizzling in my skull the whole time. Overall though it was a great time and I enjoyed revisiting it, happy to never go there again :D.

Afterwards I came back home and realized that I’d forgotten to take the keys with me, and so I got stuck for nearly 20 minutes knocking the door and calling all my friends who were inside. None of them answered of course, they were all knocked out, so I went to get ice cream. Came back and his mom was awake so problem solved.

One nap later and me and Mohammed were going to see the Monet exhibition. IT WAS GORGEOUS. I loved every second of it it was great. The place consisted of two sections, the first being all of Claude Monet’s paintings in digital form, his history, life, and experiences that came from his line of work as an artist. The second section being a huge projection, meant to end off the exhibition in a huge way by memorializing his artworks in a new fashion, while also mesmerizing the participants. It was an amazing time. Even Mohammed enjoyed it, and if were being honest he only came because I pestered him. We went through the whole thing in about an hour but went back in to enjoy it again, this time I read through all they had to say about Claude and his works, total time we spent was about three hours and we only left early because Mohammed’s mom wanted us home to eat, otherwise we would’ve stayed longer. If you find artsy stuff like this appealing and are in Jeddah reading this before it ends July 28th or so, I cant recommend it enough.

Soon after we went home and spent the rest of the day with the rest of the friend that had slept since morning, who’d FINALLY woken up by then(fair enough we were all tired). Got an energy drink and had lunch, passed by the juice shop one last time and went home. Afterwards they drove me to the airport and we said our goodbyes.

Once I got in the airport and sat myself down beside the check in for the flight, I still had AN HOUR AND A HALF till boarding. So I played chess, a lot of chess. I’ve been finding it very fun recently and, with the help of a few channels, see myself getting better. Don’t get me wrong I’m still blundering all the time BUT BETTER IS BETTER OKAY? I’m having fun with it and I hope to keep going up at this pace. As for the flight itself, it was quite serene. I don’t know why, actually probably since I hadn’t drank anything since i entered the airport, but the moment the attendants passed by to give drinks and I took A SINGLE sip from the orange juice I’d gotten, its as if I’d woken up five times over. genuinely like id woken up from a month long coma, and with the sunrise hitting at just the right time as well I was genuinely in shock. I just stared at the sunrise in awe, what a way to end things.

So now were here, and I’m home. A lot of stuff to do, gotta get back into old habits and start saving up money since I burned through so much throughout the vacation even while trying to save as much as possible. Gotta start getting ready for AUB too, exams are coming up soon and Lebanon isn’t that far away now. I like to think I’ll have even more to say next week, but only time can tell. goodbye for now šŸ™‚
